Life Skills in Action:
Confidence, Communication, and Care at Multiple Life Skills Week

From October 21–24, 2025, Stella Maris School Gading Serpong held its Multiple Life Skills Week, a special program designed to help Secondary students grow in character, confidence, and practical life skills. This week supports our school’s mission to develop students who are responsible, expressive, and ready for real-life challenges.

The week opened on Tuesday, October 21, with the SNAPP (Sticky Notes and Push Pins) Workshop for Grade 10 IGCSE and Grades 10–12 IB, conducted in collaboration with Focus on Family Indonesia. This four-hour workshop guided students through important topics such as Family, Identity, and Healthy Relationships. Through group discussions and reflective activities, students learned to understand themselves better, appreciate their families, and build positive relationships. The workshop was led by well-experienced facilitators, ensuring a meaningful and engaging experience that helped students become more responsible and self-aware—qualities that Stella Maris School Gading Serpong aims to develop in all learners.

On October 22 and 24, students from Grades 7–11 joined the Public Speaking Workshops, facilitated by Sunarisa (Grades 7–8) and HeartSpeaks Indonesia (Grades 9–11). These sessions were fun, lively, and very interactive, helping students overcome their fear of speaking in front of others. With games, short speech challenges, and group tasks, students practiced expressing their ideas clearly and confidently. Many students were able to break their boundaries and show courage in communicating skills essential for leadership and teamwork. The workshops were led by experienced speakers who guided students in building both confidence and creativity.

The final activity was the First Aid Workshop for Grade 7 on Thursday, October 23, led by Primaya Hospital at the Getsemani Auditorium. This workshop was eye-opening and provided hands-on practice in dealing with everyday emergencies. Students learned how to respond to situations such sprains and fainting, as well as how to check for danger and call for help. The session was conducted by skilled medical professionals, making the learning safe, practical, and memorable.

Overall, Multiple Life Skills Week was a meaningful and enriching experience for the students of Stella Maris School Gading Serpong. Through these activities, students gained confidence, learned useful life skills, and took important steps toward becoming responsible and caring young leaders. And this is just the beginning more exciting life skills activities are coming soon to help our students grow even further!
