Starting fresh this new academic year, the new Leo Club Chevaliers leaders

As the future leaders of our world, it is vital for students to learn what local and global struggles we may be facing, as well as what goes into resolving them. Students should learn how to impact the nation in a positive way and cultivate their leadership skills so they can one day lead us to a brighter future! If only there was a club or organization out there that trains students how to do all that.

Well, look no further because Leo Club is just the club we need!

Leo Club is an international, non-profit youth organization that focuses on aiding the needs of the community and environment around us. The organization itself is large and consists of multiple clubs in each district. What’s exciting is that here at Stella Maris school Gading Serpong, we have our own club: Stema Chevaliers!

Leo stands for 3 words: Leadership, Experience, Opportunity. Here at Leo club, we’re given the chance to hone our leadership skills, gain organizational experience and unlock more opportunities in the future! So, aside from being a charity organization, the club is an opportunity for students to grow confidence and learn important skills that will help them in the long-run!

In this fiscal year, we aim to improve the problems surrounding both us and our community! In other words, trying to solve problems that affect both us and those around us. For example, we are planning on carrying out an event where members can volunteer to help farmers plant crops to help reduce food shortage and also lighten their work.

Another idea would be the Leo Flea Market where we collect donations of unused items and resell them, giving a portion of the money to the original owner. The remaining money collected will then be donated to various charities or projects that need assistance in funding.

Of course, Leo Club isn’t all work, no fun either! Members get to participate in several events – typically made by our district 307-A1 or Lions Clubs International – that allow them to spend time with their friends, or experience things they never would have done before! A few examples would be the social night event/prom where Leo members could dress up and enjoy a night with their friends. Lions Clubs International also conducted the Youth Camps and Exchange program, which allowed Leo members to go abroad and explore what it’s like being in Leo Club outside our country!

“The purpose of human life is to serve, and to show compassion and the will to help others.” As Albert Schweitzer said, we are meant to help one another. We are supposed to show love to our world and the people around us. We were always meant to impact our nation in a positive way! This is what we, as Leo members, are trying to achieve in every step we take.
