Entrepreneurship at Stella Maris: A Student’s Experience
By: Lavinsky Charlize Tjahjadi – 8B Student
In today’s business environment we see entrepreneurship playing a big role in our daily lives. Entrepreneurs are behind most of the things we enjoy and use, including the food we order online or clothing from small local brands. Starting a business, creating new products, and solving everyday problems are all parts of entrepreneurship which in turn impact the quality of life.

Entrepreneurship is all about turning ideas into reality, turning things you thought you can’t do and actually succeed in doing it. It means finding a problem, thinking of a solution, and working hard to make that solution happen. Entrepreneurs need to be creative, determined, and willing to take risks. For example, if someone notices that people in their neighborhood don’t have easy access to healthy food, they might open a small food stall or launch a delivery service to meet that need.
Because of how important it is, I’m glad that Stella Maris School Gading Serpong encourages students to learn about entrepreneurship. Through various school activities and projects, we get a chance to think like entrepreneurs solving problems, working in teams/groups, even creating small business ideas. And I am personally very grateful that I had the chance to win the startup business competition. These lessons help us understand how businesses work and how we can be leaders and problem-solvers in the future.
These past few terms we are given chances to be creative and build our own mini business ideas, the subject Entrepreneur and Itpreneur collabed and we had to create a startup business idea, we had to advertise, socialize, present in front of our teachers we were going against 2 or 3 other groups and thankfully my group won the startup business. After winning the competition my group was given a chance to decorate a booth during entrepreneur day and sell our food that we specially create with the right ingredients, me and my group is so grateful that we can have this experience even though it wasn’t all great but we tried our best by promoting, encouraging each other and always being ready when a customer wants to order.
Our entrepreneurship teachers Ms. Estika and Mr. Riza, both made our lessons interesting. They also gave us detailed explanations, guided us through projects step by step and supported us when we have new ideas. They both always remind us that being an entrepreneur isn’t just about money, it’s about making a difference. Both of them are also very patient and encouraging, especially with the students who don’t understand the lesson yet or are slow at learning new things. I’m thankful to have a teacher who makes learning about entrepreneurship so exciting and meaningful.
Become a future entrepreneur! Let’s join Stella Maris School Gading Serpong
