 Celebrating Indonesia’s Independence at Preschool Stella Maris Gading Serpong

Preschool Stella Maris Gading Serpong recently held a vibrant and engaging Independence Day celebration on August 16, 2024 that brought together students, parents, and teachers in a spirit of unity and patriotism. The event was full of games, performances, and activities that fostered a deep appreciation for Indonesia’s rich heritage.

The day commenced with a solemn yet inspiring flag ceremony, where students, parents and students stood tall, saluted the flag and sang our Nation anthem Indonesia Raya with pride. Followed by our school anthem Mars Stella Maris and Hari Merdeka. This was followed by a lively parade featuring students waving Indonesian Flag and singing Hari Merdeka around the school, showcasing the diverse cultures of our beautiful nation.

 The heart of the celebration lay in the exciting games that brought families together. The ‘Flag Relay’ and “Transferring Ball” had the students passing the flag with enthusiasm and coordination. The ‘Bakiak Race with students’ was a hilarious spectacle as parents struggled to maintain balance while racing in giant wooden clogs. The ‘Take the Flag with Mom or Dad’ game tested both physical agility and teamwork.

Individual games like the ‘Donut Eating Contest’ and ‘Finding Your Child’ added an element of fun and friendly competition. The ‘Balloon Dance’ was a joyful and energetic activity that brought smiles to everyone’s faces.

These games not only provided entertainment but also served as valuable learning experiences. Children learned the importance of teamwork, cooperation, and sportsmanship. Parents had the opportunity to bond with their children while participating in fun-filled activities. The event fostered a strong sense of community and belonging within the school.
