Leo Club Stema Chevaliers

Leo Club Stema Chevaliers located at Stella Maris School Gading Serpong. This club is the place where high school students find opportunities to develop leadership skills, serve their community, and grow personally. Our main focus is on making a positive impact in our community. We do this by organising various activities and projects that aim to help others. In this article, we will let you explore more about the world of Leo Club Stema Chevaliers, where students come together to build leadership abilities and make a difference in their community.
Leo Club was founded by Jim Graver in 1957, in Pennsylvania, USA. It all started with one club namely Abington High School Leo Club, which was sponsored by Glenside Lions Club. Now, Leo Club has over 7,600 Leo Clubs worldwide, with more than 180,000 members in over 150 countries and territories, one of the countries include Indonesia. In Indonesia, our Leo Club is labelled with an area code 307, (307 symbolises the area assigned by Lions Club International for Indonesia).
Leo Club has 5 main global causes which are, hunger, vision, diabetes, environment and childhood cancer. Leo Club’s main objectives are to help those who are not as fortunate as us. In hunger, Leo Club will help provide meals for people in need. In vision, we will give glasses to people who can’t afford one. In diabetes, we may raise awareness towards the impacts or effects of such disease. In the environment, we focus on taking care of the environment around us, such as cleanliness. Finally, in childhood cancer, we help by entertaining kids who may not have the childhood that we had when we were young due to the cruel disease, cancer.
Leo Club Stema Chevaliers (LC Stema Chevaliers for short) is a club based in Stella Maris School Gading Serpong, and it was founded in 2018. LC Stema Chevaliers is located in District 307 A1, which mainly includes other clubs in the area of Jakarta.
From experience, Leo Club, for us, is a place where we can express our gratitude towards the society and the community around us, it realises the heart of sympathy to help others. So far in LC Stema Chevaliers, we have participated in a lot of events, some of them include, mangrove planting (environment), street feeding (hunger) and environment clean up (environment). We were also able to make lots of new friends, because members will have to socialize with other clubs’ members for collaboration events or any bonding events held by the district. For us, Leo Club is something that has influenced and improved our skills in communication and in public speaking as well.
